    Roberta Orsi: “Conoscere il passato per progettare il futuro

    Roberta Orsi Landini, an expert in textiles and clothing, has worked for more than 20 years on the textile and clothing collections at the Pitti Palace in Florence. She is the author of numerous articles, essays and books and has collaborated with a variety of public institutions and museums in Italy and abroad. Since the inception of the Galleria del Costume in 1983 he has collaborated in various projects, exhibitions and publications, among which are Moda alla corte dei Medici, on the preserved Medici funeral wardrobe and I principi bambini, on the children’s wardrobe of the cut. For the Stibbert Museum, he conceived and curated the exhibition and the catalog entitled L’abito per il corpo. Il corpo per l’abito, who faced Western and Islamic dress.

    Orsi instigated and supervised for many years the didactic activities of the Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio and the Roberto Capucci Foundation in Florence. The most recent publication of his book, Moda a Firenze 1540-1580: lo style di Eleonora di Toledo e la sua influenza, is the culmination of his painstaking and accurate costume research on contemporary archival documents and images. Opening conference of the III ITM 2021 Colloquium soon
